Hello readers, this blog was created by me to share my own thoughts and analysis for books and plays we read in class. For each book we read, we are assigned to create a post where we analyze the text and specifically look for evidence of what the author is suggesting about the meaning of life and the human condition. My goal is to find important quotations from the texts, identify and analyze the author's craft that is used, and connect that to what I think the author is suggesting about the meaning of life. The author's craft is the literary devices that the author chooses to use which help to perpetuate the themes in the text. My goal is to better understand why the author's use the craft that they do and how that perpetuates the themes in the text which relate to the meaning of life. Some of the texts we will be reading have very definite themes that clearly show what the author suggests about the meaning of life, but in other texts that may not be as clear and it will be up to my interpretation on what I think the author is suggesting about the meaning of life. In each of my blog posts I will include a universal human truth which is a short phrase that suggests a condition of humanity; this will help me conclude each post with a general idea of what the text suggests about the human condition.
